What is the wolf project? first lets get to some back round. i have been lifting since i was 14. as the "fat kid" that hated school i needed an outlet so naturally i started lifting. the summer between my junior and and senior year i lived, breathed and loved lifting. and it continued through high school. i was never the biggest or strongest kid in school but i worked the hardest. i remember some days i would go to the weight room at school and then go home and eat and then i would go to another local gym so i was lifting for 5 hours a day in some cases (which kept me out of trouble so my mom was happy). i remember looking at FLEX magazine thinking "that is what i want". so fast forward a year or so. when i moved to GA i stopped lifting for about a year just because it was a new place and i was busy with work and meeting new people. so after that my now wife Mallory and i started lifting and it started to turn into a passion for both of us. she started making huge changes both in strength and in physique she dropped some weight and started moving some serious weights on her main lifts. my training kinda took the backseat and my passion then turned into training her. she was stronger than any girl i had ever met and i found my passion in training and helping other people. it was limited to her at that point. so fast forward a little more. after we both got into powerlifting i had been nursing a knee injury and also we had been trying to get a new house. so training for both of us was not in the plan anymore. so i took about a year and a half off... so here where the wolf project starts. around oct. 2013 i was at the highest weight i had ever been at and the most unhappy with myself that i have ever been. i was weighing in just shy of 300lbs. just so happens that also we got married on oct. 26th. yep thats right worst shape of my life on my wedding day fun!.... NOT! after the wedding i looked at my wedding pictures and my wife looked amazing and here i am 300lbs and looking like theres a bowling ball where my head is supposed to be, and i was storing a truck tire around my waist. i had reached my breaking point! i was no longer going to be the fat guy so on nov. 18th i made the best choice i have ever made. i joined Pump ' n Iron gym. i remember the first day i walked into the gym. there was posters of all of my heros from FLEX magizine posted on the walls. and i said yes this is where i am supposed to be. i had some work to do. i threw myself into the fire i started going 6 days a week for 2-3 hours a day. and changes started happening. so fast forward about 4 months into training. i had made some changes to myself and using some of my plans that i set up for myself. and a little back round on that as well i have done so many different programs both for strength and for mass building and cutting. i have done west side methods, cube method, body building routines, strongman routines, and powerlifitng programs. i like all of them. so guess what in my routines i do all of them. i think thats the best way to be a well rounded lifter. my biggest thing is if i am going to bench 500lbs i want to look like i bench 500lbs. and if iam going to look like i bench 500lbs i better be able to bench 500lbs. so anyway about 4 months into my training people started to notice that i have a serious program and people started to want to get in on a workout with me. so i started with one guy who was lifting with me every day and he also was making some changes and he was getting stronger. so again my passion had found me again it never fails i can go into a gym and people just seem to work in with me. i guess i am approachable lol. so after some others in the gym started to see his progress and mine as well others decided they wanted to jump in with me. so fast forward to now... i know finally right? today i can say i am in the best "shape" i have been in. i am down to 230lbs and stronger than i thought i would be with the weight cut. i am happy with my results. but again you ask what is "the wolf project" the wolf project in a nut shell is my journey in my training and training others. in my time at Pump'n iron gym i have met some of the best people that can best be described as family. i see so many people taking advantage of their potential and furthering their goals and achieving new ones. the whole point of The wolf project is just that moving forward. my passion is lifting. but i love helping people out and training people. i see so much potential at Pump'n iron its oozing out of the walls its the only place i have ever been to that i have seen people hold each other accountable to their training and everyone is willing to lend a helping hand. in a sense we all kind of train each other. we have body builders, powerlifters, physique competitors, and athletes. both male and female. my goal is to surround myself in the gym and in life with success the way i look at it if i can have everyone around me succeeding there is no way i cant follow suit. this blog was created just to kind of track where i am at and where my peers are at in their training. i am going to give the password to this blog to others that train with me so they can also write in their goals and training goals. that way the wolf project can expand into a network of athletes all fighting for the same goals.
